About Me
Kelsey is a non-attorney education advocate serving families of children with disabilities in the public school system. Kelsey has a wide range of experience in the educational system, both in the general classroom and instructional intervention roles. She holds a Bachelor’s in Education, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, a Cognitive Coaching certificate, certificates in Orton-Gillingham instruction, and a National Board Certification for Advocacy in Special Education from the National Association of Special Education Teachers. She has taught in elementary grade levels, taught reading and math interventions, been a mentor teacher, and is an instructional tutor to students with disabilities. Most importantly, Kelsey is the mother of two daughters who have faced challenges in the educational setting. She has experienced the challenges and obstacles that children with disabilities face in the educational system, but also knows the success they can have with appropriate services and accommodations.

My Story
Kelsey’s journey as an education advocate began when her youngest daughter was diagnosed with Dyslexia in 4th grade. Prior to this diagnosis, Kelsey advocated for services within the school setting for her daughter for two years. She saw the challenges and obstacles that her daughter and family faced as they worked towards finding appropriate accommodations and services that would be successful. The journey of advocating successfully for your child is extensive and emotional. Through her own experiences, Kelsey saw the need to educate herself as an advocate to empower and help other families along their advocacy journey. Kelsey pursued a National Board Certificate for Advocacy in Special Education (BCASE) from the National Association of Special Education Teachers.
